Apple Cup and Kelly's 21st Birthday!

Anyone living in or around Washington state knows the real rivalry between Washington State University (WSU) and University of Washington (UW). Every year after Thanksgiving, we have our rivalry game called the Apple Cup. This year it was in Pullman (WSU) but we haven't exactly had a stellar season under our belts so we opted not to make the 6 hour drive over after Thanksgiving and instead just watch it at home with friends and family.

Apple Cup is usually a unique game because no matter what the season looks like for both teams, this game is always a toss up. For example this year UW had about 7 wins, compared to our 2 wins....so pretty much NOBODY was putting money on the Cougs....but somehow (thanks to a missed field goal on UW's part) we won the game in overtime!

It was a pretty exciting game, to say the least and we have won bragging rights (despite our awful season) for the rest of the year!

All Coug geared out while we run out to take advantage of Black Friday deals before the game

Hannah lucked out...we found a jumper on sale so she got an early Christmas present. She LOVES it.

Missed field goal...thanks UW!

Coug win!

Hannah was excited

Story time with Mommy later (ignore all of our wedding gifts piled up next to us....we are in limbo with them as we wait to hear about the house)

Moving on...

I don't know how it happened...but somehow the baby of the Grindley family turned 21 on the 26th of November. She decided to stay home an extra day so that we could all celebrate with her...(basically she just wanted two parties ;). So at midnight on the morning of the 26th we all took her out to the most poppin' bar we could find for a Sunday night/Monday morning. We bought her drinks and shots galore, celebrating her legal drinking age. She looked gorgeous and she definitely had a blast. Happy Birthday Kell! Love you!

Thanksgiving

I was so excited for Hannah's first Thanksgiving. Even while I was pregnant, I had visions of what our Thanksgiving would be like with our little monkey. It has always been such a family and friend oriented holiday for my family, that I couldn't wait to share it with her. It definitely didn't disappoint.

We usually head up to Chelan and spend the holiday with our family friends, but this year Noah and I talked everyone into staying in Woodinville. We were a little wary of driving over the pass in snow conditions with Hannah....and we have a brand new kitchen to break in over here! So we ended up staying put and it was so much more relaxing...we woke up that morning and I was so grateful that I could just lounge around instead of pack up all of Hannah's bajillion accessories that we need to cart around these days and make the three hour trip.

We dressed Hannah up in her Thanksgiving dress and started helping out in the kitchen. Noah and I were in charge of the pies. We decided to make Apple Pie (my favorite) and Pecan Pie with a chocolate layer (Noah's favorite).

Everything turned out delicious. It was definitely an adjustment, having Hannah there. I couldn't help out in the kitchen as much, since the baby needed to be played with, fed and changed. So Noah kind of took over cooking duties this year and he did an amazing job. The Pecan Pie was definitely the hit of dinner!

End of the Macy's Day Parade and thinking of Kari-Bear!

My 28th Birthday

We celebrated my 28th birthday back in the middle of November (I know, I'm behind in these updates!).

It was the perfect day. Noah took over nighttime feedings to let me get one of my VERY FIRST nights of uninterrupted sleep. It was amazing. He woke up early the next morning, got Hannah all ready for the day and started whipping up a delicious breakfast.

I wasn't feeling that great, so we opted for a relaxing day at home. We watched football, played with Hannah and finally opened presents and celebrated another year with cheesecake.

Awkward self-family pic!

I got a lot of wonderful gifts. Noah got me two Glassybabies (which I have been wanting forever!) and tickets to see the Nutcracker. Hannah got me an "I love my mom" mug with pictures of her adorable face all over it. My parents got me a sewing machine (I forsee lots of craft time in my future!), clothes and a cast iron pan that I have been wanting. I also got lots of lotions, scarves and jewelry from the sibs. Overall it was a perfect birthday.

Big Milestone!

Our sweet pea finally rolled over!....and we were lucky enough to catch it on video!

Auntie Bailey and Uncle Patrick were over visiting and Noah wanted to show them how much she laughs when he tickles and kisses her tummy...we started filming because she was being so funny and she took the opportunity to roll over for the first time!

The video is kind of long...but the end is definitely worth it (in the opinion of this Momma ;).

Lazy Sunday

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! We are having an incredibly lazy weekend over here....we're talking still in pajamas, lazy. The best kind, if you ask me.

I thought I would share this video I took of Hannah this morning...we were talking about going to go see her Auntie Jillian and Auntie Lisa next weekend and she got very excited so I whipped out the camera.
(p.s. excuse the poor quality...I was using my phone AND it was 3 in the morning :)

Have a great rest of your Sunday, everyone!
